Your questions answered about our furry friends
Dog FAQs
What breeds do you have?
We mainly have Black and Sable German Shepherd Dogs. There are a few cattle dogs in the mix, but they are not for rehoming.
Are your dogs vaccinated?
Yes, all our dogs are up to date on vaccinations and receive regular health check-ups. Our 8 month old puppies will need their yearly shots.
Can I adopt a dog from you?
Absolutely! We have an adoption process to ensure each dog finds a loving home that fits their needs. Fill out the form on the "Bring Home A Dog!" page, and we'll get in contact with you.
Do you offer training support?
No, we provide basic training tips and resources for new dog owners from what we've learned along our journey but we don't pretend to be trainers.
What is the dog's diet?
Our dogs are fed a balanced diet tailored to their age and breed requirements. They are fed fresh homemade meals twice a day, with kibble to supplement between meals if needed. See our daily dog food recipe here: "Dog Food"
What type of dog kibble do you use?
Purina Dog Chow Complete, Chicken Flavor is what we use to supplement.
Do you travel?
Yes, we travel and deliver to Arizona, Southern Utah, and Idaho. Depending on time and place, an added fee may be added.
Are they Crate Trained?
Yes, these dogs understand the command "crate" and know to go to their crate. They prefer to be crated with one other dog (can we say co-dependence?)
Why do your older dogs have a rehoming fee?
Many of our dogs remained with us significantly longer than originally planned due to veterinary treatment, recovery, training, daily care, vaccinations, food, and ongoing health expenses. The rehoming fee helps offset a small portion of that investment while ensuring families are committed to providing a permanent home. A preferred donation to this is between $850 to $1,000.
Are they AKC certified?
No. I have a sneaking suspicion that Rex was AKC certified, but since he was found as a runaway, we will never know. What we do have is his and Greta's DNA to prove they are pure German Shepherds.
